A Roman settlement was constructed around the 2nd century BC.The silhouette of a city is visible in the geometrically symmetrical placement of the streets. The City of Porec has preserved this appearance with the main streets Cardo Maximus and Decumanus as well as the centrally located Forum.
ROUND TOWER was built in 1475 near an earlier structure which has not been preserved.
Following its restoration, this tower has also been turned into a bar, located in its central room and on the watchtower, now a terrace with a view of the waterfront and the Island of Sveti Nikola.
Inside the tower, loopholes and the original steep stone stairs have been preserved.
PENTAGONAL TOWER was erected in 1447 on the foundations of an earlier medieval tower built on the remains of an ancient one.
Under strict instructions given by conservator-restorers, the restaurant was open in the restored tower, and the sightseeing made available to anyone.
